Combination PLS-48 Seam Welder and PWL-15-60 Lathe Welder Time Share the AWS-400 Advanced Welding System
Weldlogic’s Engineering Department combined our PLS-48 Precision Longitudinal Seam welder with our AWS-400 Advanced Power Supply, Arc Voltage Controller and Wire feeder to be time time shared with a PWL-15-60” lathe to manufacture fuel tanks for space. The weld quality was critical and the volumes were low, so for economic reasons the AWS-400 Advanced Welding System was time shared with the seam welder and lathe weld stations.
The system was placed in a clean room to perform Tank Seam Welds and Tank End Cap welds.
